About This Site
Most English-language guides to Korea are written once and never updated. The numbers in them quietly go stale — a tax refund threshold that changed two years ago, a rule that was replaced, a service that launched last month and is not mentioned anywhere.
This site exists to fix that. I live in Korea, and I check things against Korean sources before writing them down: government notices, official airport and city pages, company announcements. When a widely repeated figure turns out to be wrong, that becomes the article.
Everything here is written in English and Korean, in that order, so you can show the Korean half to someone if you need to.
What I will and will not do
- Every factual claim links to where it came from. If I could not verify something, I say so instead of guessing.
- Rules and prices change. Articles carry the date they reflect, and I revisit the ones that go stale fastest.
- I do not write about places I have not checked, and I do not present someone else’s experience as my own.
Corrections welcome
If something here is out of date or simply wrong, please tell me. Korea changes its rules more often than most guides admit, and a reader who just walked through the process usually knows before I do. See the contact page.

한국을 다루는 영문 가이드는 대부분 한 번 쓰이고 갱신되지 않습니다. 그 안의 숫자들은 조용히 낡아갑니다. 2년 전에 바뀐 세금 환급 기준, 이미 대체된 규정, 지난달 시작됐지만 어디에도 언급되지 않은 서비스 같은 것들입니다.
이 사이트는 그걸 바로잡으려고 만들었습니다. 저는 한국에 살고 있고, 글을 쓰기 전에 한국어 자료로 사실을 확인합니다. 정부 공지, 공항과 지자체 공식 페이지, 기업 발표 같은 것들입니다. 널리 인용되는 숫자가 틀린 것으로 드러나면, 그게 곧 글의 주제가 됩니다.
모든 글은 영어와 한국어로, 그 순서대로 씁니다. 필요할 때 한국어 부분을 상대에게 그대로 보여줄 수 있도록요.
지키는 것
- 사실 주장에는 출처를 답니다. 확인하지 못한 것은 추측하지 않고 확인되지 않았다고 밝힙니다.
- 규정과 가격은 바뀝니다. 글에는 기준 시점을 적고, 빨리 낡는 글부터 다시 확인합니다.
- 직접 확인하지 않은 것을 쓰지 않고, 남의 경험을 제 경험처럼 쓰지 않습니다.
